Welcome in the new week.. actually half of the week is nearly gone.. I hope you had a good long weekend... I did.. We were celebrating my husband's birthday (a big one) - I organised a surprise birthday dinner.. it was worth seeing my husband's face:)
Anyway back to the shoes business... It has been almost 3 months since I started my adventure with Gucios and I have to say - what a ride it has been so far... not only I learnt so much about myself, but also I found a lot of interesting things about people... Things I thought would have never happened did, and vice versa... I had my bet on few potential customers , but in fact they weren't interested to purchase the shoes... I mean they were..for half price or for free and the people who never crossed my mind bought it.. Some customers ordered even before my website went live and then cancelled when they saw the price (they never asked about the cost in the first place)... and some mums were putting the money aside for few months to get the pair of Gucio... wonderful.. I feel very happy and proud that I could bring a product so unique, with so many amazing qualities to Australia... And I'm happy that people appreciate it.. it really made setting all up worth it.. I just hope Gucios one day will become recommended first shoes for babies learning to walk as they deserve that title without any doubt. Just really wanted to say a big THANK YOU my customers/mums who supported and support Gucio ., with you it's all worth it... iwona

Humans are on a constant quest for excellence. If it can’t be found within ourselves, then we look to other things to represent it. This is what a luxury brand is all about: receiving an item or service of exceptional quality transfers this trait to us, and marks us (rightly or wrongly) as one deserving of excellence.
It is this feeling of increased self-worth that a brand must cater to if it is to climb the slippery slope to achieving luxury status. There are a number of methods a brand can accomplish this, and the most successful luxury brands usually employ a combination of these, if not all. This is perhaps one of the key defining features of a luxury brand. There has to be a marked difference between the ideal customers of a luxury brand and those of a competing, lower class brand. This difference can be social, monetary, or otherwise. The luxury brand’s products may still be accessible to the general public, but they need to put in a lot more work/expense/investment for them to obtain one. It is this exclusivity that makes the brand so desirable—both to customers and to the public. Most luxury brands set their products apart by adhering to their own design philosophies, and eschewing the conventions of their peers or those set by the general public. This can lead to products that are either over-engineered or highly stylized, but in a manner that is unique to the brand. It is this uniqueness that becomes a prime attractor for customers who want to set themselves apart from people who use similar products. I strive for Gucio to be an exclusive brand - it is unique and ticks all the boxes for exclusivity, but at the same time it is accessible to general public. The brand is not design to be discounted -in fact the manufacturer and the owner very rarely have sales, and one of the reasons for it is to keep it exclusive. At the same time the shoes sell well, the quantities are limited as it is a time consuming labor work, every shoes is 100% hand made, it is truly an art. If you are looking at the website and waiting for sales I cannot see it in the near future. If you like the shoes, just buy it. We may be able to make a better deal if you wish to purchase 2 or 3 pairs but other than that the prices remain the way the are. At the end of the day day Gucios are designed not for everyone, only a limited amount of customers will become our exclusive ones. Will you be one of them...?? Have a good week Iwona |
